Artist’s Bio

I was born and raised in Germany where I started to study Visual Arts including Photography and Art History while pursuing Photography.

Immediately after, I moved to Amsterdam to attend a full time program at the School of the Arts and started to work on stage and in television shows in The Netherlands as a professional performer.

In the midst of my performing career, I was given a professional opportunity to move to New York to extend my career to a higher level.

By the second year of living in New York, I realized that visual arts meant a much greater passion for me and therefore decided to fully concentrate on photography.

At the same time I was very fortunate to have been given unfettered access to the entire dark room of the late renown  photographer & photojournalist Weegee (aka Arthur Fellig) which allowed me to print and process all of my own work.  This is when I began to develop a deep appreciation for the vital importance that light & shadow play in each and every frame that I produce.

I deepened my love for Photography and have been a professional photographer ever since.  Exploring a wide range from photojournalism, portraits, still life, architectural, beauty, fashion, weddings and street photography to theater productions and fine art.

My passion for photography has always gone beyond the professional arena as I have found that I cannot even leave my house without a camera, always looking for a new subject, story or fleeting candid moment.

I appreciate every job as a new opportunity for discovery and to push my own boundaries as well as expand what the status quo thinks is possible… You will only hear me say “It can be done”.

Parallel to my photography career, I am also a high-end digital photo Re-toucher and Photo Editor.

My career is very versatile in addition to having been Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo's primary photographer for 14 years and recently completed an extensive Architecture advertising campaign for W Hotels in Hollywood.

With the Trockadero alone, I have been published in various magazine issues (including cover editions) to program books, newspapers, advertisement campaigns and giant posters such as: Dance Magazine, Scene, The Village Voice (New York), The New York Times, Centerpiece, Chicago Magazine and more.

I speak three languages and have traveled to numerous cities and countries across the globe.

I currently work and reside in New York and Los Angeles and my most favored hobbies are building custom furniture and travel.

As you can see from this website...I do many different things. But believe me, it's only a fraction of the big picture.
